Secure comprehensive home network £350 - Want one?
All GPL software. So free to use. Not monopolised by any corporation. Continuously improving for the benefit of the global community. (Unlike Apple and Microsoft)
Server: 1Tb Vortexbox Appliance Linux distribution, fully incremental rsnapshot backup, SAMBA file server, Squeezebox media centre, MySQL database, Apache web server
Router: Buffalo WHR-HP-G54, flashed with DD-WRT
Modem: Netgear DG834GT, bridged mode
Backup drive: Western Digital Elements 1Tb. Rsynced to remote server at Mum's house over OpenVPN anti-CIA secure link. So full disaster recovery. Both our houses would have to burn down to lose any data.
Only draws 46 watts too.
